French Onion Soup


Tons of onions, beef broth, and red wine make this soup wonderful.

SERVES: 8
PREP TIME: 10 Minutes
COOK TIME: 35 Minutes

Ingredients

10 medium Onions
2 Tbsp. butter
32 oz. Beef Broth
1/2 cup Dry Red Wine or Red Cooking Wine
1 Baguette, toasted
8 oz. Gruyere Cheese, sliced

Directions

	Step 1: Peel and slice 10 medium onions (or 7 jumbo) - add two Tbsp. melted butter in a large stock pot - saut� for about 25 minutes or until onions are deep brown.

	Step 2: Add one box of beef broth and 1/2 cup of dry red wine - bring to a boil for about 10 minutes.

	Step 3: Ladle soup over toasted baguette slices in ovenproof bowls.

	Step 4: Top with slices of gruyere cheese and and place in 450 degree oven - bake until cheese is melted (about 8 minutes).
